Talk: Parenting That Promotes Learning (Van Nuys, CA)

Led by Executive Director, Patty Wipfler
We parents instinctively know that being close to our children is important. If they can trust us and come to us when they need help, we have a good chance of smoothing some of the bumps of life for them. Staying close to our children is not easy to do in today's society. Our work, their school, fears of theirs and fears of ours, exhaustion, and the little daily upsets in the family can wear down our energy for connecting. This talk will center on the basics of communicating caring to our children while supporting their learning, which is essential to their growth and development. We'll also talk about handling the stresses we parents experience, and some of the confusing signals our children give when they're upset.
