One-on-One Consulting
At Hand in Hand, our specialty is helping parents nurture the connection with their children. We work primarily with individuals by telephone. The issues we help with include, but are not limited to children's aggression, separation fears, eating and toilet troubles, sibling relations, sleep issues, teen issues, and troubles with school or learning. Many of the parents we work with read our popular Listening to Children booklets before their first consultation, but consulting can be helpful even before you've read the booklets.
During a one-on-one consultation, you can discuss your unique family situation and get specific suggestions on how to apply our tools, reduce parental stress, and minimize conflict.
Who are your consultants?
Our parent consultants are Hand in Hand staff members who are parents with substantial personal and professional experience using the Parenting by Connection approach.
How do I get started?
Simply call or e-mail to schedule your first consultation. A consultant may be able to find time for you the same day you call. Also, you are welcome to call our office for a brief informal chat about consulting or parenting, free of charge, no appointment necessary.
How much does it cost?
The fee for parent consulting by telephone is $100 an hour. Patty Wipfler is available at a rate of $125 an hour. Your consultant will work with you to manage your time together for the most benefit.
What is your schedule?
Hand in Hand consultants are usually available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. Other times can be arranged individually as needed. If you need assistance calculating the time, go to WorldTimeZone.com.
Is in-person consulting available?
If a Hand in Hand consultant who is a good match for your family is available near where you live, in-person consultations can be arranged. An in-person visit is $150 per hour.

Our intention is to make a real difference for you and your family. So we offer a simple guarantee: If you aren't completely satisfied with your consulting session, just let us know and we’ll refund the fee for the session.
