Weekend Workshops A Hand in Hand leader can be brought to
do a weekend workshop that provides an introduction to Parenting
by Connection for parents or professionals. Workshops can be
tailored to be all weekend long, including Friday night, or for one or
both days of the weekend. The workshops can be residential at a conference
center, or daylong at your facility. Weekend workshops provide the fullest
opportunity to learn about Parenting
by Connection and to experience the variety of tools and formats
that are key aspects to this approach. A workshop includes talks, demonstrations,
listening practice in pairs and in small groups and time for play and
discussion. A weekend workshop can be tailored to meet the specific needs
of staff or parents in an agency or collaborative.
Consultations
Hand in Hand offers personal consulting services by phone (and/or in-person in Northern California) between 8:00am and 8:00pm Pacific Time. Many parents, in addition to reading and trying the ideas about listening to children outlined in our classes and pamphlets, find that a little one-on-one time to talk about applying these tools to their unique family situation is a great boost to their ability to use the Parenting by Connection approach.
Hand in Hand consultations are conducted by a Hand in Hand staff member who has substantial experience using the Parenting by Connection approach. It is a confidential parent-to-parent consultation, not treatment from a therapist. Consultation fees are $50 for the first half an hour, $15 for each quarter hour thereafter, per call.
