Before Each Week's Mentoring Conference Call:
All of the Class Videos and Reading materials for this class are posted under Lessons in this online course, with one set of materials associated with each week of the six-week course. Before calling in to each week’s mentoring call, please watch the Videos and read the Reading materials associated with that week’s class ahead of time. Please also do the suggested practice and establish a journal for recording your observations, thoughts, and feelings. If you did not get enough time to do all that we recommend before the first call, that's okay.
You can catch up with the materials for both Week 1 and Week 2 before the second class call. The homework assignment associated with each class, including the reading, videos to be watched, practice, and journal assignments are listed with each Week in the Modules section. The homework assignments are also stated at the end of each chapter of the Starter Class Manual (formerly called the Building Emotional Understanding Manual). For in-person classes, we ask parents to do the homework AFTER each week's class meeting. For the online classes, we ask parents to do this homework BEFORE each week's mentoring conference call.
