Hand in Hand’s Foundations for Parents and Caregivers – Practical tools for big emotions – and support for the parents holding them, with Katy Linsley. Small groups, Warmly held.

6 Wednesdays beginning September 16th, 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM UK, 7:30 PM AWST

£260

“Katy helped me see my child differently — and myself too. I felt calmer, more confident, and better able to handle the hard moments.”
— Alice, Mum of 2.

When tantrums, bedtime battles, or power struggles take over, it can feel like nothing you do is working — even though you’re trying really hard.

You may have read the books.
You may have tried the tools.
You may be wondering why it all seems to fall apart at 7pm anyway.

This course offers clear, practical Hand in Hand tools to help children release big emotions — alongside calm, non-judgemental support, so you can use them with confidence (including on the days when you’re tired, human, and slightly over it).

You may come looking for help with behaviour.
You’ll leave feeling more connected, more capable, and far less alone.

A place to slow things down

Parenting doesn’t usually need more effort.
It needs more understanding — and more support.

In this Hand in Hand Foundations for Parents and Caregivers, we take a closer look at what’s really going on underneath behaviour, and how children (and adults) move through stress, big feelings, and disconnection.

We also make room for laughter.
Because parenting is hard – but it can still be light.

You don’t need to be perfect here.
You don’t need to say things “right”.
You don’t even need to be having a good week!

What we’ll explore together

Over the course, we gently and practically explore:
• What “tricky” behaviour is actually communicating
• How children’s brains and nervous systems work under stress
• Simple ways to build connection before things fall apart
• How children heal from everyday hurts (yes, even the small ones)
• Setting limits that strengthen your relationship rather than strain it
• The surprising power of play (no clown skills required!)
• Why parents need support too – and why that’s not a luxury

This isn’t about fixing your child.

It’s about understanding what’s happening – and responding in ways that work in real life.

Who this course is for (and who it probably isn’t)

This course tends to suit parents who:
• Want practical tools, but not magic tricks
• Are curious about behaviour, not interested in “naughty” labels
• Care about connection – even when it’s messy
• Appreciate warmth, honesty, and the occasional laugh
• Would like support without being judged or corrected

You don’t need any previous experience with Hand in Hand. And, if you’ve been trying out the tools already, this is a place to deepen and steady your practice.

A bit about me

I’m Katy — mum to two boys and a certified Hand in Hand Parenting Instructor.
I came to these tools because I needed help myself. When I felt how they changed, not just my children’s behaviour, but me, I knew this was work I wanted to share.
I don’t take myself too seriously — but I take parents and parenting very seriously.
I love creating spaces that feel calm, human, and supportive, where parents can think, feel, laugh, and learn without pressure.

“The way Katy held the space helped me trust that I really was doing my best — and that changed everything.”
Beccy – Mum of one.
