Free Webinar – Helping Children with Fears and Worries

Is your child sometimes

  • aggressive
  • withdrawn
  • always “on the run”
  • unable to sit still
  • unreasonably afraid of new experiences
  • having trouble getting to sleep or staying asleep, or
  • getting very upset about small things?

These challenges may be signs that your child is struggling with feelings of fear. All children accumulate fears, some small, some more significant. Unfortunately, some fears don’t “go away” on their own. Unaddressed, they tend to “snowball” and grow larger.

Join this webinar to learn how to use the Hand in Hand Listening Tools to build your child’s connection with you and help them resolve old (and new fears) and worries, so that they can go confidently into the world.

Can’t wait til September? Got some other parenting challenge?  Madeleine loves to help: why not book a Free 20 Minute Consultation, and she can help direct you to the best resources and support.

Feelings of fear are normal

It’s a bit scary sometimes being little person in a big person’s world. There’s so much to learn and understand. Children are having new experiences all the time – it’s not surprising that they have some feelings about it all, which build up and trouble them.

In addition, early frightening experiences can provide the “seed” from which later fears grow. Children’s fears become overwhelming and result in behaviours which are unworkable – for both you and your child. These feelings can get in the way of a child’s ability to enjoy life, learn, make friends, and co-operate. And you might have some feelings too (-;

Workarounds are good, but tend to stop working

You’ve probably tried lots of things to support your child to go bravely and confidently into the world. You might have tried to avoid the issue, or reassure your child that things are in fact safe.  Or offered extra motivation to help them past the difficulty, such as  some kind of reward or punishment or “consequence”. Or tried to push past the difficulty.

But are you finding that your workarounds and encouragements aren’t working so well?

The good news

You can anticipate, acknowledge and effectively deal with your child’s fears in ways that increase their general confidence and willingness to try new and old things.  Join Madeleine Winter to hear about practical ways to get support, a plan and some tools to help.

Madeleine is the parent of a young adult who has been using and teaching Hand in Hand for over 30 years. This is what parents have said about her:

“I’ve done a lot of parenting courses, and read a lot of books. In one session, Madeleine communicated a picture of why my children behave as they do which made more sense of what is going on than anything else I’ve come across. She offered practical strategies and approaches that I will go home and try. I’m looking forward to learning more.” Mother of 5 y.o twins & 9 year old, Wiseman’s Ferry, NSW, Australia

“I liked being reminded that we are all good parents. The talk was structured around our questions and I wish we had longer – I could always take more listening to you, Madeleine. I really enjoyed today’s session.”  Foster/adoptive parent of 18 month old, Sydney, Australia
