Fruzsina Balogh

Hand in Hand Certified Instructor

I graduated with majors in English and Communication/Media, I worked as a journalist and for an NGO focusing on people with disabilities. I always loved working with people especially with the ones in need and I always had a very strong inner motivation to “change the world”.

When my son was born in 2012, I faced unforeseen difficulties. At the age of 2, he started daycare and both of us perceived it as a trauma of having to part. I was desperate to find tools that help both of us survive the difficulties and not only I can support my son but I can reach out for some emotional help for myself too. Even my first phone call to the – then one and only Hungarian – Hand in Hand instructor helped me a lot and I could see our situation much clearer. When I attended the Starter Class, everything seemed much more understandable as if the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle reunited. Aha, this is how we work, now I get it! – this is what I felt. I was really enthusiastic to start using the tools and after the first weeks, the daycare teacher asked me what happened to my son? He is so cooperative and joyful as she never saw him before!

At this point, I knew I not only want to make Hand in Hand approach be a basis of our family but I also want to help other families experience how the notion of love and respect can be put in practice. When the Hungarian Hand in Hand was founded, it was not a question for me to join and be part of this community. I became a certified instructor in 2017 and I have been vice president of Hungarian since 2018. Apart from running classes and supporting parents I also deal with our association’s funding, communication and consciously build our local community.

Meanwhile,it has been an uplifting experience to use the tools from the moment of birth: my daughter was born in 2015. Since then we keep testing the method in our challenging family life with two small children every day. We live in Budapest, Hungary.

After becoming a parent I did not lose my ambition to heal this world, I realized that one effective way we can truly make an impact is to raise and nurture our children well. Hand in Hand approach helps me plant the seeds of love day by day.
