When Sabira was growing up, she remembers being asked, “what do you want to be when you grow-up?”. Secretly she didn’t want to be anything other than a mom. She felt like it was the greatest job in the world!
In 2007 her first son was born with major medical issues. He needed 2 open heart surgeries very early in life amongst dozens of other interventions. She bore patiently through those days, hanging on to the side of her son’s bed waiting for the difficult days to pass and for their family to begin living her dream life, as she had envisioned it.
As her family grew and her kids got older, Sabira found herself being swept away by the difficulties of parenting. Never in a million years did she imagine it would be so difficult. From the embarrassment of her kids’ behaviour, to the sleepless nights, to the isolation she felt, she soon fell into a place of overwhelm. Sabira worked hard over the years to learn best how she could help her family. She read countless books, attended seminars/workshops all in attempts to find answers. In that place of overwhelm she finally found her answer. And it all started when she got her hands on the book “Listen” by Patty Wipfler and Tosha Schore. From the moment she began to read the book, “she was SOLD”. Her heart immediately understood that this was what she had long been searching for. She started using the tools immediately, not all at once, but one by one she added the tools to her parenting toolbox and the results were phenomenal. Things finally started to make sense and she started to enjoy her children and started to become the mom she always dreamt of being.
Sabira’s vision is to empower every parent with these tools and this understanding to help make their parenting journey an enjoyable and fruitful one.
