The Hand in Hand Foundations Course is not about trying harder or fixing yourself. It’s about being supported as you practice and experiment, so you can build the connection you want with the children in your care – and resource yourself along the way.

What You’ll Learn and Experience

  • Understand behavior at its source. Why tantrums, defiance, or anxiety happen—and what really helps.
  • Respond with confidence. Tools you can use immediately, adapted to you and your family or work.
  • Reconnect with the children in your care. Build moments of play, laughter, and closeness, even when life feels overwhelming.
  • Support yourself. Process your own feelings, let go of guilt, and find relief in knowing you’re doing enough.
  • Be part of a community. Connect with others who understand, and get guidance from experienced Hand in Hand Instructors.

How the Course Works

  • Weekly small-group meetings (60–90 min), online, led by a Hand in Hand Instructor.
  • Hands-on practice of each Listening Tool, with guidance on adapting it to your family or work.
  • Support for your own growth – time to reflect, untangle frustrations, and feel seen.
  • Lifetime access to videos, booklets, and resources, plus printables to make practice easier, PLUS the Listening to Children Booklet Set.
