Hand in Hand Certified Instructor

I live in rural North Central Washington near a beautiful lake with my husband, two young boys, and German Shepherd. I have been a public school teacher since 2006, teaching mainly middle school language arts, but now I work with elementary-aged multilingual learners.  After having become recently certified as a Hand in Hand Instructor, I can’t wait to offer my community supportive and transformative tools.

I first found Hand in Hand Parenting when my oldest was 3 and my youngest was 1.  I didn’t know what to do with the sibling rivalry that was already starting.

As soon as I discovered Hand in Hand Parenting by doing a desperate Google search, I knew I had found something that resonated with me deeply.  I read tons of articles, devoured the book Listen, joined the Parent Club, formed listening partnerships, and have seen so much transformation in my family and myself ever since.  When I told one of my mentors that I wish everybody knew about this approach, she encouraged me to become certified.

I’m so grateful for the Hand in Hand tools that enable me to feel confident in reaching for my kids over and over again with connection and love, whether in play or in intense displays of emotion. I’m also grateful for the immense support Hand in Hand offers to parents, and for the belief that everyone is good and is doing the best they can.  And that we all deserve more support!

I look forward to offering talks, workshops, study groups, and classes in my local community.
